“The central topic of the documentary film is presented within a series of interviews with 4 citizens from Oslo and Bucharest. The film speaks about foreign bodies as “(dis)located bodies”, alienation, periphery, discrimination and human rights. The film presents models of integration through art, creative design and social architecture. The aim of the documentary is to contribute to a better understanding of the cultural diversity and consolidate the intercultural dialogue with the culture of the minorities, especially Roma people and emigrants. ”

“A young fellow with supernatural powers and all necessary conditions to become a super hero. The short movie intends to raise awareness on environment preservation and on the negative effects of virtual inter-personal relations at the expense of real ones. ”

The study has identified 20 of the most important and representative elements of the immaterial Székelyek heritage. Among them worth-mentioning are the art of painted furniture or wood carving, a technique that is used for gates and funerary columns. The secui from Romania are also very well known for gastronomic specialties such as potato bread, the Székelyek sweet bread or the wedding tree of Micflău.

“The project aims to artistically counterpart the challenges of the less than perfect educational system (the high rate of unemployment among young graduates reflects the rupture between a theoretical system of education and the social realities of everyday life) and those of a society indifferent to the issues of tomorrow’s adults. Teenagers of today’s Romania are unable to freely expose their opinions and problems; they don’t know who to turn to and how to address their most fundamental questions”.

“The 53-minute long documentary gathers the lively traditions of the secui from Romania. The public will be learning the different ways of making bread and ginger bread or preparing traditional brandy. A wedding is also envisaged with the purpose of capturing traditional elements of the secui ethnics in Romania. ”

“ProEtnica is an instrument which promotes the rights of cultural expression of the national minorities and, at the same time, strengthens cultural dialogue. Thus, ProEtnica contributes to the preservation and creation of the intercultural peace in a pluralistic and democratic society.

“Facets of Hyperconnectivity is, before any other consideration, a thematic exhibition conceived having in mind the compatibility of the invited artists and their availability to respond to the general idea proposed (…). In other words, it is an exhibition based on non-organic principles, without a center and a periphery, in which each work is a possible preview rather than a specific piece in a jigsaw puzzle”.

“PLANTELOR58 Artist Residency aims to introduce two artists from the donor countries to the Romanian cultural environment. The selected artists were encouraged to take as much inspiration as possible from the local context. The two successful candidates, Kazimieras Sližys, from Vilnius - Lituania and Helena Wallberg, from Stockholm – Sweden, resided and exhibited in Bucharest within two time-frames: August-September 2015, and October-November 2015. At the end of the residency period, each of the two selected artists displayed their works in an exhibition.”

“Arts Citadel is a multicultural center where youngsters can express themselves freely within an open environment. Throughout a period of eight months we have travelled across different ethnic cultural spaces and studied their traditional particularities. It was them that served as inspiration sources for the creation workshops that we have organized: from music, choreography and clothing design, to photography, video and visual arts.”

Using the city of Brăila in Romania (a post-industrial, post-communist city with economic and population decline) as the field of operation, an international group of students and teachers have been exploring forms of operational capital that go beyond economy to develop architectural approaches.

Coppersmith, woodcarver, basket weaver, blacksmith and silver jeweler make up for 5 Roma handicraft videotaped with the purpose of determining a better understanding of the cultural diversity, consolidating both the intercultural dialogue and the public access to the culture, traditions and handicraft of the Roma from Romania.

Photo Romania 2016 means the sequel of an idea started more than 5 years ago, now presented in the form of hundreds of events: tenths of exhibitions, workshops, conferences and speeches, with Romanian and foreign guests, with a large visibility both here and all over Europe.

The 2016 edition of Classics for pleasure festival continues to develop in Romania a sustainable center for professional artists, by offering young talented artists both the possibility to collaborate with internationally renowned personalities and perform for the public.

“From the very beginning, the Binding Europe through Cinema and Danceproject was set to document, represent and present to the public the diversity and particularities of the Roma culture, meaning both to reduce the disparity amongst the non-Roma population regarding the understanding of the Roma and initiate a multicultural dialog based on knowledge, consideration and respect.”

“The documentary which is part of the project Multicultural Diversity – Community Development Pillar in the Counties of Botoșani, Bistrița- Năsăud and Iași outlines the multiethnic culture and traditions in order to increase the capacity of the local administrations to promote to the general public the cultural diversity of North East and North West Romania.”

“The project “Be yourSelfie in Bucharest” focuses on the urban and historical non-formal education, in an attempt to provide information to the younger generations, who, with very few exceptions, are not the beneficiaries of any kind of intercultural or urban and heritage education or training in the formal Romanian educational system.

“Planning to fulfill the fundamental act of recovering and revalorizing an important part of the historical heritage of Timișoara, the project managed to digitally archive a 139-year long history of the city theatre recorded in posters, chronicles, photos, rehearsal notes and many more, making it a first-hand documentary resource for researchers and the public alike.”
