Binding Europe through Cinema and Dance” is a project that was developed in order to respond to the need of increasing knowledge of cinema arts like comedy films and contemporary dance, as tools expressing European cultural diversity and to the need to specialize human resources in promoting cultural projects.

Starting from the socio-economic, cultural and political realities of two small towns from Teleorman district, – Alexandria and Turnu-Măgurele – Maskar project aimed at initiating community dialogue by triggering stereotypes and prejudices, especially ethnic ones, and encouraging for a better understanding of the past with focus upon solidarity and empathy.

The project sustainability is provided by the capacitation and fostering of the local natural and human resources. “The cultural project Theatre Dialog Box started as a response to the desire to improve access to culture and to increase cultural consumption among young people, promoting tradition, multiculturalism and equality. The biggest problem that we have identified concerns the limits of the school curriculum in facilitating the dialogue between students and the Romanian culture or cultures of other societies.

“The project has managed to reach its objective, that is to encourage the minorities of the Bucovina region to rediscover and preserve their cultural identity. Therefore, by bringing together minorities, the project successfully contributed to the welding of the relations between minorities and to establishing new cultural collaboration opportunities. Moreover, children were encouraged to proudly wear their folk garments and sing specific repertoire while parents understood to support them into preserving the cultural heritage”.

“The idea of the project generated from the desire to revive traditional games, to make them known to the young who, considering present technologies, risk alienating from the authenticity and beauty of playing as part of their cultural and national identity. Playing is the manner in which children communicate experiment and learn (…). Playing traditional games by means of new instruments is an activity that is encouraged to be cultivated as playing in itself is universal, whereas the playful spirit is a bridge between diverse cultures and civilizations”.
