IMPACT

“Binding Europe through Cinema and Dance” is a project that was developed in order to respond to the need of increasing knowledge of cinema arts like comedy films and contemporary dance, as tools expressing European cultural diversity and to the need to specialize human resources in promoting cultural projects.

“Children had the opportunity to turn both detective and architect and to shape the stories that we tell them or they create himself. We worked with evidence, photographs, drawings, models and stories that animated them.”

Starting from the socio-economic, cultural and political realities of two small towns from Teleorman district, – Alexandria and Turnu-Măgurele – Maskar project aimed at initiating community dialogue by triggering stereotypes and prejudices, especially ethnic ones, and encouraging for a better understanding of the past with focus upon solidarity and empathy.

“Dobrudjan Diversity towards European Community has fostered and consolidated the understanding of the Dobrudjan cultural diversity, contributing to the enlargement of the cultural audience and the education of the majority population regarding ethnic minorities”.

“Digital story involves multiple disciplines, including literary and artistic skills, use of technology and inter-cultural exchanges. To that effect, libraries aim to encourage interaction between different ethnic minorities represented in Romania, thus promoting cultural diversity and tolerance for minority ethnic values. The digital story provides the tool by which the memory of the communities can be known and shared”.

“In Romania, the project is a unique initiative offering the tourist of Râșnov the possibility to come into contact with the Viking culture. With the Norwegian partner know-how and the support of the local authorities, the project is set to become a culturally viable alternative addressed to the young, in particular, engaging a new educational method to facilitate the grasping of historical phenomena.”

“Through its activities, the project agrees the concerns of local, regional, national and European with regard to promoting cultural diversity and intercultural valences. During the two intercultural exhibitions were exposed the best works of arts by the target group of the project, as well as works of arts by 8 artists from Norway and 16 artists from Romania, in order to promote them and internationally.

“The secrets of the traditional handicraft have been passed on from generation to generation and ethnographically define the quality of cultural diversity. The project sustainability is provided by the capacitation and fostering of the local natural and human resources. Thus, it is through the facilitation of professional trainings for the local people and the organization of handicraft workshops that the production of goods and services is encouraged and fostered.”

“The innovative approach of the project consists in managing the cultural knowledge and personal stories of users by means of public libraries. Suggesting a shift from the traditional library as supplier of materials to the modern library, as facilitator for the creation of material by the users, the project offers an original interpretation to the idea of digital story and a creative rethinking of the role of libraries in the community, in terms of intervention in the cultural diversity field.

“The cultural project Theatre Dialog Box started as a response to the desire to improve access to culture and to increase cultural consumption among young people, promoting tradition, multiculturalism and equality. The biggest problem that we have identified concerns the limits of the school curriculum in facilitating the dialogue between students and the Romanian culture or cultures of other societies.

“The project has managed to reach its objective, that is to encourage the minorities of the Bucovina region to rediscover and preserve their cultural identity. Therefore, by bringing together minorities, the project successfully contributed to the welding of the relations between minorities and to establishing new cultural collaboration opportunities. Moreover, children were encouraged to proudly wear their folk garments and sing specific repertoire while parents understood to support them into preserving the cultural heritage”.

“The handbook starts from the necessity of an intercultural education policy amongst the youth as catalyzer of the dialogue between diverse cultures. (…) intercultural education, designed for promoting the idea of coexistence with the others, is attainable when constantly relating it, on the one hand, to understanding of ethnic and linguistic self-identification, and on the other hand, to the idea of accepting the relation between education and ethnic identity (…) That is why a youth integration programme is challenge in our society”.

“Historical re-enactment is designed as a new instrument to understand and value culture, as well as to contribute to the durable development of the local community. The project develops a new cultural product, the living history, by means of an educational method that is both original and facilitating the understanding of community life within the 13th – 17th historical period.”

“The Art in diversity magazine aims at fostering the interest of the public towards the art of minorities and their forms of cultural expression. Moreover, the magazine will comprise, in a most captivating manner, the cultural events of the Bucharest minorities with the purpose of promoting them to the general public, thus contributing to the consolidation of the minority rights to promote their own culture”.

“Stories incubator is set for promoting reading among the young, as one of the most beneficial and complex action that can happen to human mind. High school students will be encouraged to earn and treasure the habit of reading, and most importantly, to help those with artistic potential to write”.

“The project aims at offering those interested in traditional arts and crafts activities that are especially designed to facilitate an experience marked by unity in diversity. By selecting the most valuable and representative craftsmen we bring to the public true models for stir the interest for traditional arts and cultural diversity”.

“The idea of the project generated from the desire to revive traditional games, to make them known to the young who, considering present technologies, risk alienating from the authenticity and beauty of playing as part of their cultural and national identity. Playing is the manner in which children communicate experiment and learn (…). Playing traditional games by means of new instruments is an activity that is encouraged to be cultivated as playing in itself is universal, whereas the playful spirit is a bridge between diverse cultures and civilizations”.
