Project summary

The urban growth process, currently stalled in many Romanian and European cities, requires completing the ‘top-down’ regulations and political decision with the ’bottom -up’ position, inclusive and cultural opened. The city of Brăila, against its social and economic shrinking profile, still has a latent urban potential that deserves to be explored and ignite. Thus, the joint project of the two partner institutions was devoted to an educational collaboration that approached the city of Brăila as an urban laboratory, in order to explore and develop new tactics and micro-strategies, ignite actions and local interventions that reveal the urban and cultural values of these potential "markers", usually hidden under the common, and ignored by the planning process, but with the potential of becoming local development parameters.
