Launching event of the Programme PA17/RO13 “Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage”

The Ministry of Culture, through the Project Management Unit, acting as Programme Operator, launched the Programme PA17/RO13 Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage”.

The event took place on Monday, November 4th 2013, at the National Library of Romania, Room “Mircea Eliade”. The financial aid is granted to Romania through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 and supports the promotion of the Romanian cultural diversity within the European heritage.

The opening of the event marked the speech of the Romanian minister of culture, Mr Daniel-Constantin Barbu, welcoming the participation of the Norwegian Ambassador to Romania, H.E. Ms Tove Bruvik Westberg, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Iceland to Romania, H.E. Ms Georgiana Pogonaru and the Secretary of state from the Ministry of European Funds, Mr Alin Mitrică.

The launching of the Programme gathered over 100 cultural operators from all cultural areas, interested in the opportunities available for project financing.  

The cultural operators were also informed about the financial support available within the Programme, through the Fund for bilateral relations, for the development of partnerships. The aim of this support is for cultural operators from both Romania and the donor states – Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, to partner up in order to develop partnership projects.

Programme PA17/RO13 Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage benefits from a total alocation of 8,022,059 euro and represents one of the most important financing opportunities for the Romanian cultural sector.
