Project summary

The project's main objective was focused upon strengthening and promoting a cohesive programme dedicated to contemporary arts and culture and audience development, at local, national and international level. This objective carried on the long-term strategy of the Paintbrush Factory Federation, aimed at supporting, promoting and developing the creation and dissemination of culture, contributing to the professionalization of the cultural sector and facilitating open access to culture.

Ever since its establishment, the Paintbrush Factory – a space for contemporary arts – assumed an important role in the creative sector as a space of debate on relevant issues for the Romanian society and urban communities from Cluj, as a dynamic interdisciplinary platform of art production and cultural activities. Through Hotspot.art, the cultural capital developed and promoted by the Paintbrush Factory extended in the direction of encouraging creativity in various artistic fields, including: contemporary theatre and dance, visual arts, mobility for young artists, cultural education and training, research and documentation of contemporary art.
