Project summary

The Political Theatre Platform 2015 aimed at promoting cultural diversity through performances about vulnerable groups. The specific objectives of the project focused on cultural representations of the Jewish minority through performances enacted by the residents of the “Dr. Moses Rosen” Home for the Elderly, raising awareness about civic issues among young people through participatory art, facilitating free access to theatre performances in Bucharest and 4 other Romanian cities, enhancing the artists’ experience through Forum Theatre, and last but not least, developing bilateral relations by working with a Norwegian theatre company.

Facts & figures

The Documentary Theatre Season

  • 20 performances of the documentary theatre aiming at the non-formal education of a wider audience on issues of cultural diversity;
  • 1400 spectators participating to the theatre performances;
  • 600 people involved in the post-performance debates.

The Community Theatre Season

  • 6 performances of the community theatre aiming at the consolidation and the promotion of the cultural history of minorities;
  • 15 members of the Rosen Home community involved;
  • 420 spectators participating to the community theatre performances;
  • 180 people joined in the post-performance debates.

The production of political theatre performances

  • 2 new political theatre performances released: “If We Only Knew” and “Because You Deserve It”;
  • 12 performances in Bucharest organized;
  • over 840 spectators, 360 of which joined in the post-performance debates.
