“The central topic of the documentary film is presented within a series of interviews with 4 citizens from Oslo and Bucharest. The film speaks about foreign bodies as “(dis)located bodies”, alienation, periphery, discrimination and human rights. The film presents models of integration through art, creative design and social architecture. The aim of the documentary is to contribute to a better understanding of the cultural diversity and consolidate the intercultural dialogue with the culture of the minorities, especially Roma people and emigrants. ”

The study has identified 20 of the most important and representative elements of the immaterial Székelyek heritage. Among them worth-mentioning are the art of painted furniture or wood carving, a technique that is used for gates and funerary columns. The secui from Romania are also very well known for gastronomic specialties such as potato bread, the Székelyek sweet bread or the wedding tree of Micflău.

“The project aims to artistically counterpart the challenges of the less than perfect educational system (the high rate of unemployment among young graduates reflects the rupture between a theoretical system of education and the social realities of everyday life) and those of a society indifferent to the issues of tomorrow’s adults. Teenagers of today’s Romania are unable to freely expose their opinions and problems; they don’t know who to turn to and how to address their most fundamental questions”.

“PLANTELOR58 Artist Residency aims to introduce two artists from the donor countries to the Romanian cultural environment. The selected artists were encouraged to take as much inspiration as possible from the local context. The two successful candidates, Kazimieras Sližys, from Vilnius - Lituania and Helena Wallberg, from Stockholm – Sweden, resided and exhibited in Bucharest within two time-frames: August-September 2015, and October-November 2015. At the end of the residency period, each of the two selected artists displayed their works in an exhibition.”
