“The idea of the project generated from the desire to revive traditional games, to make them known to the young who, considering present technologies, risk alienating from the authenticity and beauty of playing as part of their cultural and national identity. Playing is the manner in which children communicate experiment and learn (…). Playing traditional games by means of new instruments is an activity that is encouraged to be cultivated as playing in itself is universal, whereas the playful spirit is a bridge between diverse cultures and civilizations”.

“Each African percussion session was yet another opportunity for us to get to know each other. “Put into the scene for the first time in 2014, Saint Patrick and Friends tour is set on the idea of interculturality and unity within dance. Reinvented in 2015, the new choreography brings to the scene dance elements specific to each culture. Though based on the Irish dance, the show aims at mixing specific elements of flamenco, belly-dance and Romanian folk dance”.

“Brãila is a city with an impressive history. It passed through centuries resisting to aggressive incursions that have targeted it, incursions performed both by Romanian rulers (it was burned by Stephen the Great), but also by foreigners. The Turks have occupied us for 300 years, Brãila being among the few cities in the country made Turkish raia, then the Russians came and destroyed almost everything.
