Project summary

CHORORO – music of Europe beyond prejudice aimed to present to the public cultural 'goods' with major educational message created through international cooperation, bringing an innovative approach to the overall objective of promoting cultural diversity.

Through the project an animated 3D movie was created as a result of European intercultural dialogue. In the film, the characters discover, through music, a common language that allows them to accept diversity and overcome prejudices. By broadcasting it, the public and in particular young people were familiarized with the culture and history of the Roma, Roma artists having in this way an educational role. Both the producer and the artists who performed the soundtrack were of Roma ethnicity.

Facts & figures

  • 1 musical animation film about Roma musicians produced and presented in 8 international festivals;
  • 12 projections in Norway, 2 online projections and 64 projections throughout cultural and educational events in Romania;
  • 7 events with Roma artists organized to demonstrate the skilfulness of Roma musicians.
