International seminar on impact of PA17 Programme implementation

The Ministry of Culture and National Identity through the Project Management Unit, acting as Programme Operator, organized an international impact seminar regarding the implementation of the PA17 Programme Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage within the EEA Grants 2009 - 2014.

The seminar took place between September 20 – 21st 2017 in Bucharest and aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience and good practices in the cultural field.   

The event gathered representatives of PA17 Programme Operators from Romania, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Hungary, of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest, Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Iceland in Romania, Financial Mechanism Office, Arts Council Norway acting as Donor Programme Partners, as well as representatives of the National Focal Point and of the Certifying Authority. Project promoters from Romania and other 5 Beneficiary States together with Donor Project Partners also joined the seminar.

The event offered the opportunity to outline main achievements of all the participating Programme Operators as well as to present several projects successfully implemented in Romania, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. Moreover, the seminar highlighted best practices regarding the dissemination of arts within the general public, increase of visibility, consolidation of bilateral relations and the social and economic effects of PA17 Programme implementation in the local / regional communities of the participating Beneficiary States. The discussions of the working groups organized within the seminar also touched on the main challenges in the implementation of the PA17 Programmes and projects. 

In the end, the event was a good opportunity to exchange experience and foster intercultural communication, enhancing cooperation and diversity at European level.
