PRESS RELEASE regarding the seminar for evaluators within the Programme PA17/RO13 Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage

The Ministry of Culture, through the Project Management Unit, acts as Programme Operator for PA17/RO13 Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage financed through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014.

The Project Management Unit organized a seminar addressed to experts included on an expanded list following the call for experts. The two day event took place last week (May 7-8th) in the conference room of Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Bucharest.

The seminar aimed at exchanging experiences and good practices with experts from other countries related to the evaluation of projects within the Programme PA17 Promotion of diversity in culture and arts within European cultural heritage.

The Programme Operator invited experts from the Donor States (Norway) and other beneficiary states of the EEA Grants (Poland, Latvia and Spain) together with representatives of Arts Council Norway, the Programme Partner.

The guest speakers shared their experience regarding the implementation of the Programme PA17 in their own countries to the evaluators from Romania. The latter had the opportunity to ask specific questions related to the financial and technical evaluation grid and benefitted from interactive sessions based on actual project praxis.  

The seminar proved to be an opportune undertaking for the Romanian experts that will contribute to an efficient future evaluation process.

Between January 6th and April 25th 2014, the Programme Operator has opened calls for projects and during this period, 215 applications for large projects and 115 applications for small projects were registered. The total value of the grants requested amounts to approximately 35 million euro.

We thank all the participants for their presence and active involvement and hope for a successful evaluation of the projects.
